Technology

I use various types of technology on a daily basis throughout the day. When I first wake up I am using technology because my alarm clock is a form of technology. I am basically surrounded by technology. Even when I am not even thinking about it I am using some means of technology. One of the main times when I use technology is when I use my cell phone. One of what I consider to be a main necessity to my life is probably a form of technology that i take for granted.

One of the main things technology has done for me is that it has made my life easier. I can know get things accomplished quicker, easier, and more effective. If it were not for technology I don't know where i would be at in my life at this moment. Even in school some classes are set up where you will turn in homework assignments over the internet.

If technology did not exist I believe that the world would not be where it is at today. When man first created wheel he created technology. Without this basic fundamental to the world where would we be as a society.?

I agree with you that technology is everywhere. It is ironic that you will be using technology and not even realize. This just shows what a impact it has on our lives. I also liked your comment about the wheel and man.

technology is everything and everywhere. we use it all the time. it is the progression of an objects use. without it we would pretty much be like the Amish!

You are so right. Everything you said I more than half way agree with. But I can't help but be a little pessimistic on the subject. Turning in assignments online is probably one of the best ideas, but what if your computer crashes. I've been so stressed out before because I've had a test due online and my computer decided to throw a fit at the last minute. It was not fun, and although I would be lost without my bestfriends (cellphone and I POD) I can't help but worry what the future in technology might bring.

This post is indeed a prime example of the optimism and positive result technology can bring about. We indeed use technology at all times, regardless if we are actually aware of it. Checking the time on that alarm clock, that phone, even an old dial wristwatch are all examples of technology being put to use under our radar of conciousness. Not many individuals will look at the time and say, "Thank goodness for that digital time piece!" We do, however say, "I'm going to be late," or "I have fifteen more minutes before I absolutely must wake up." There is no doubt that civilization would not be nearly as advanced as it is today without the drive for technological betterment, however I question just which state we would be in had we chosen to progress in other ways.

I agree, technology indeed makes life easier, but as we progress towards whatever goal we seek, I feel we lose perspective which may aid in aspects of life which technology can not entertain. In a way, technology can make us lazy, help us forget certain aspects of reality, and practically forces us into progression, whether we deem it a positive or negative endeavor.
