When I first found out that this class wasnt a normal English i wanted to switch out as fast as possible. At the end i am glad that i ended up staying in the class because overall it was a great experience. It was a great environment to be in because everyone was learning how to do everything at the same time. No one was ahead of anyone else so no one felt left out or left behind. (unless they are procrastinators) I believe i have learned skills in this class that i will be able to use in the future. I am so glad that i decided to stick with this class rather than switch to a regular 105.

Argument Report Reflective
When it came to doing this report I am very happy that we did the other two reports. It seemed as if the Hypertext and multi modal were preparing us to do this report. Little by little the projects were getting us used to different things so we can use them when it came to this project. Everything seemed to come easily due to the experience i had working with the other projects. While doing this project it made sense why we needed to do the previous two. If we were to have just jumped into this one it would have been too complicated and too confusing. Overall I believe that this project was a great experience

Claim For Web Argument
The claim i am making for my web argument is that video game play can necessarily be considered an addiction. It has been proven that excessive game play causes psychological and neurological changes which resemble that of people who have a substance addiction. Also a person will become more reliable on playing video game with excessive play. How can something physically change the human body in a way that something else does and yet not be considered the same thing. Thats like saying something that you use to harm someone is not considered a weapon. They have the same characteristics and in turn must be the same thing.

Multimodal Reflective
This time around i found making a hypertext essay more how should i say...comfortable??? Everything seemed to run more smoothly. I suppose the fact that i had somewhat experience with dreamweaver by now i was able to get things done more efficiently because i had the basics understood. In the process of doing this report i learned how different media such as videos and pictures can contribute to the point you are trying to portray in your report. When used correctly the proper use of these additions can turn an average report into an extraordinary one. Overall i liked this report over the previous hypertext assignment.

Hypertext Reflective
Overall i thought that the hypertext project was a great idea. Not only did it require us to research the topic in various ways it also helped me familiarize myself with dreamweaver even more. When i began thinking about how i was going to layout my hypertext i decided that my goal was going to be to give my audience an overview of who digital immigrants and natives were and the conflicts between the two. The biggest problem i had was probably linking my hypertext to my purdue space. The reason this was was because i have dreamweaver at home so i tried to do it from there. There were complication because i had to upload everything to my purdue h drive and then link it from there. After i was able to figure out how to do it, it was pretty simple. Overall i believe that the hypertext was, although frustrating, a great experience.

Semester Topic
The topic i decided that i would like to research for the remainder of the semester is "Do video games prevent someone from having an active social life?" Being a "gamer" as some may call it myself, this topic interests me very much. When people find out that i play video games some of their reactions are "O you play games you dont go out or have friends." when in actuality the situation is the complete opposite. One of the main reasons i play video games is because with things such as X-box Live you can play with or against someone anywhere in the world. This is a great way for me to keep in touch with friends who have went away for college or dont live near me. Even though with me the situation is different, i do see people who completely throw themselves into video games going as far as to dressing up as a character and going to conventions or constantly talking about how they got to the highest level or beat the all time high score. . Some might say these people have no life but in doing so arent they interacting with others?

Technology
I use various types of technology on a daily basis throughout the day. When I first wake up I am using technology because my alarm clock is a form of technology. I am basically surrounded by technology. Even when I am not even thinking about it I am using some means of technology. One of the main times when I use technology is when I use my cell phone. One of what I consider to be a main necessity to my life is probably a form of technology that i take for granted.
One of the main things technology has done for me is that it has made my life easier. I can know get things accomplished quicker, easier, and more effective. If it were not for technology I don't know where i would be at in my life at this moment. Even in school some classes are set up where you will turn in homework assignments over the internet.
If technology did not exist I believe that the world would not be where it is at today. When man first created wheel he created technology. Without this basic fundamental to the world where would we be as a society.?

Cyberculture
I was introduced to the world of cyberculture at a very young age. I first used AIM when I was in middle school. Since then I would say that I have been constantly surrounded by cyberculture every single day. I constantly come in contact with different forms of cyberculture such as MySpace, Facebook, YouTube and AIM. I usually spend the majority of my time on the computer on these various sites. Cyberculture is probably the main way I communicate with people. One of the most popular means of cyberculture is e-mail. E-mailing is a very sufficient way to send a message to somebody even if they were all the way on the other side of the world.
I would have to say that cyberculture has affected me in a positive way. Through cyberculture i have been able to keep in touch with people who have moved away for college or family who live in another state. I see cyberculture being a part of my life forever. If anything I believe cyberculture will grow and it will become an even bigger part of my life.

Popular Culture's Effect On Me
Popular Culture has effected the way i live my life in more ways than one. It effects my everyday decisions without me even really taking noticing of it. People tend to sway to what the media portrays to be in or "cool." Usually people will purchase certain products because they seen a certain celebrity on tv with the same item. A few years ago being seen with jewelry was a sign of success or monetary status. Because i would see celebrities with shiny jewelry everyday on the television, I decided to go and buy a chain for myself.
My clothing style is very influenced pop culture. Usually i would buy something that i have seen someone else wear or what is currently in style. Although ii try to sway from this habit because fads come and go i usually end up in the same routine.
Even tho popular culture has a great influence on the decisions i make i believe that my friends have an even bigger impact. Information spreads by means of word of mouth and my friends do or wear might have an impact on what I decide to wear. (usually when it comes to shoes) Overall I believe althoughpopular culture does influence my life it doesn't control it.

Definition Of Popular Culture
Popular culture lies in the eye of the beholder. Popular culture is the perception that society has of the world around us. Popular culture is what the media tends to display to the general public. Exposure tends to help aspects grow into pop culture. A few years ago a band performed at my former high school and because they were not well known, people were not interested. Once they signed to a label and became poplular they now have been on country-wide tours. These displays throughout various media outputs tend to influence the way society acts or represents themselves. It is constantly evolving due to the constant changes around the world. It has an effect on all demographics of people worldwide.
